  • Delusions often arise from thinking that truth is proportional to the intensity of our beliefs.

  • The most absurd intolerance of all is to reject others only because of their beliefs.

  • The stronger we feel that our opinions are based on facts, the greater the likelihood that our opinions are on biased "facts".

  • If at first you don't succeed, you shouldn't be surprised unless you believe you're divine.

  • Since there is a Golden Rule, there ought also to be a Platinum Rule that states "Do unto others as they would want to be done unto". Would we want masochists and ascetics to follow the Golden Rule?

  • Casting blame is just a subtle form of crucifixion of someone we deem deserving.

  • The greatest threat to mankind isn't atomic weapons. Rather it is the blind adherence to dogma and irrationality, plus the tendency to cling to ignorance as if it were a virtue.

  • Perhaps we are better off to never forgive another, if that were because we never accused in the first place.

  • In dying, God may only be revoking our birth certificates, not our existence.

  • When making a moral judgment of another, we are presuming to know that other person's relationship to God.

  • The atheist's secret syllogism is - I understand everything that is. I do not understand God. Therefore, God isn't.

  • God is never confused by the different names that we call Him.

  • It is certain that those that believe in an afterlife will not be disappointed, but those that disbelieve just might be.
